Thursday thoughts

When I see the economy spiraling into oblivion and people having to choose whether to buy food this week or pay their electric bill or buy gas for their car to get to work, I can't help but be ashamed of my species. One person had the answers to our energy issues almost 80 years ago. He is the one responsible for the radio, the AC motor in all of your household appliances, the AC power that you buy from the electric company, your TV, and for all of his genius and hard work, the world has mostly forgotten him. His name is Nikola Tesla.

I will write a big post on Tesla soon, but tonight I wanted to write about this obvious problem we are currently having. Nikola Tesla had the ability 100 years ago to provide wireless electricity to the entire planet for free. That means no copper wires covering your streets and highways. It also means that electric companies would go out of business. I feel no sympathy for them because if people don't buy your product, you don't force them to; you pack up and sell something else. But, human greed suppressed his wireless electricity and created that need for copper, which the mining destroys the land, and has allowed electric companies to make fortunes while telling us there is no other way. Why can't you have electricity for free if the ability is there? We have air for free. Our sunlight is free. The ocean water is free. So, why can't we have the electricity in the earth itself for free too? All you would need is an antenna at the spot where your house is currently connected to the grid. Not only did he make it possible to power your house, but your car as well. No fuel! Just an antenna! So, people are paying $200/month for electricity for their homes in the Summer, but paying $3.50/gallon for gasoline to put in a car that chugs it like a redneck does Bud Light. Are you starting to see why I'm not to happy with my species? Tesla was not only a genius, but a humanitarian. He wanted to give his wireless electricity technology away to the world for free as a gift to humanity. He knew that there was a huge gap between rich and poor in every country and he wanted to give it away so that even poor people could at least have electricity. But, american greed stopped that. His financiers pulled funding because they would not make money from selling electricity through the grid if he gave it away wirelessly.

So, the next time you flick a switch on anything, listen to the radio, watch TV, or drive your car, thank Nikola Tesla for inventing it, discovering ways to produce and give the electricity away for free, and then curse those whose greed has made people pay outrageous prices for electricity for the last 100 years and who are responsible for the high cost of running your car when both could be free. Oh, and thank Tesla for envisioning the internet which you are reading this on and your computer. And thank him for your weather radar since he invented radar at least in idea long before anyone else.

Thanks Nikola Tesla! And to J.P. Morgan and George Westinghouse, I hope they are enjoying all that money they made from their greed. Oh yeah, they aren't! They're dead! A lot of good their money has done them since dying.

Gratias et vale!

Omnia Quae Sum

Salvete omnes!

This blog is, just like the name says, all that I am. This will be my online voice to share my opinions, thoughts, philosophies, news that I feel is important or interesting, and anything I forgot to mention in that list. I am a very opinionated person and I enjoy sharing those opinions.

I have never had a place to really put who I am into words. This will be that place. If you want to know the real me, this is where I will put omnia quae sum; all that I am.
